Tell us about your business:

Salon Secrets is located away from the busy CBD in a shopping strip on Hastings River Drive just a few minutes from the CBD or the airport. Parking is available just out the front of our business.

We offer all beauty treatments as well as our wet/dry microdermabrasion for skin smoothing and rejuvenation plus chemical peels. Skin Needling is our specialty for collagen production to plump ageing skin.

What’s been your most outstanding achievement?

Personal: I have recently published a children’s book “Woodland Stories for our Grandchildren” which I dedicated to our 2 sons.

Business: One of my salon’s outstanding achievements is to have had my business plus 2 staff members nominated for Employer and Employee of the Year Awards over the years. We did not win those awards, but to me success is a journey doing what you love doing whilst continuing to strive for satisfaction and excellence. I was the first person in NSW to achieve our association’s inaugural accreditation for nail artistry. I have had enormous pleasure in teaching, mentoring and guiding students and staff to achieve their goals in whatever direction they may lay.

How do you WOW your clients?

With immediate acknowledgement and a welcoming attitude upon them entering our salon. No-one is left waiting…ever. We are on-time, every time as we consider it an insult to our clients if we waste their precious time. It’s a little thing that they really appreciate.

We use Bio Towels (completely biodegradable) in all our salon services, from hand and foot towels to bed linen. The same applies to nail files which are discarded after each use for manicures and pedicures.

What are your top 3 technology tips?

I’m not techno savvy so I get the experts in, but I can’t do without our Salon Spa Software system and with continued training I will be able to make more use of this great system such as live on-line bookings and Gift Voucher purchases. Product purchases are available now with discounts and free P & H in Australia. Our program is on auto back-up daily.

I have my own website and Facebook page but I’m getting professional help in this area.

What can’t you live without?

My smartphone and internet. It goes without saying my husband, grown sons and family.

What value and benefit have you or your business gained by being a client of PC Pitstop?

Whenever I have needed to ‘phone your company with a query, I am greeted with a very friendly person who is only too happy to assist in any way they can. There is never any laying-down of blame if something goes wrong at our end, and they will only recommend products that they know will help my business.
